No, it didn't even occur to me that it starts this weekend until just now. I have been house sitting for some great friends on the west side of the sound in a little town called Indianola. I leave for Chicago on Tuesday for a bachelor party and wedding. I get to see some old friends and do a fair bit of partying. On top of that, I am missing a great music fest here in Seattle next weekend. The irony is that this town will be emptying out this week as I leave for Chicago, yet I am the only one not going to BM.

I don't see myself going to BM every year. Maybe every other or every third. There are so many other things to do in the world. I am certainly glad to have experienced it and will go back but it won't be a regular thing for me. To do it well, I think you need to get there by Tuesday and leave on Monday. That is a huge time sink and can be very expensive.

I still one of those bottles of absinthe from last year. I will open it up once I get moved into my new place and raise a glass to Abstinithe.
